Project Ojectives

    PROJECT AIMS:
  • a modern approach of Geography, as a discipline of Sciences
  • transdisciplinary approach of Geography: Optional disciplines and auxiliary materials for other classes/lessons
  • students and teachers will be involved in the transformation of traditional educating process into a modern and attractive one
  • promoting European dimension throughout the connection between partner countries, the collaboration with local communities

  1. Students and teachers cooperation of the participant countries with the goal of observing the practical and interdisciplinary applications submitted by every partner country.
  2. The increase of the number of hours that students spend in nature, for realizing projects related with Geography.
  3. The increase of the attractiveness of Geography classes by introducing interactive methods: experimental learning, the cube method, the jigsaw method, Ishikawa chart, thinking hats method, Venn chart.
  4. Promoting the following methods and working procedures:
    • The cartographical method – a specific methodological instrument with the help of which it can be obtained the geographical map and profile, charts and cartograms block diagram.
    • The informatics and quantitative method – is one of the most used methods of investigation of the geographical reality and implies the quantification of elements, processes and relations from a system; the gathered quantitative data allow the creation of mathematical patterns and analyzing and interpreting them with the help of the calculator (GIS system).
    • Experimental method – implies the simulation in laboratories or on the field of some processes for a more thorough study.
    • Deductive method – implies to go through the process of knowledge backward, from general to particular
    • Inductive method – implies to go through the process of knowledge, backward, from particular to general
    • The comparison method implies to compare elements, processes and spatial units for finding similarities and dissimilarities between them

The main methods used in geographical research are:
    • Observing the geographical elements and processes made directly or indirectly (instrumentally)
    • Measuring the elements and the processes
    • The description which has to be exact, explanatory, comparative and aesthetic
    • The graphical and cartographical representation of elements and processes
    • The classification of elements and processes

  5. The discovery and/or the study of some traditional methods from each country for realizing weather forecasts and for identifying the signs of good or bad weather
  6. Encouraging teachers and students for studying the working methods from every partner country for acquiring new didactical skills and for practicing the linguistic competencies
  7. Realizing some collective materials, with different information from each participant country for studying the pedagogical similarities and dissimilarities and the education system from partner countries
  8. Encouraging the teachers to make exchanges of experience and good practice
  9. Realizing some optional subjects of study with an interdisciplinary character based on some series of specific materials realized in trans-disciplinary workshops
  10. Developing on students some personality traits, such as: identifying and solving problems, knowing their own strengths and weaknesses, confidence, determination, curiosity
  11. Broadening the horizons and the transnational social connections:
    • Cooperation of students and teachers from the participant countries with the goal of observing the practical and interdisciplinary applications submitted by every participant country
    • Increasing the number of classes which the student spend in nature, for realizing projects related with Geography or other more detailed projects
    • Discovering and/or studying some traditional methods from every country for realizing weather forecasts and for identifying the signs of good or bad weather
    • Encouraging the teachers and students to study the working methods from every participant country
    • Realizing a number of collective materials, with different information from every participant country during the optional classes
    • Realizing some collective materials, with different information from each participant country for studying the pedagogical similarities and dissimilarities and the education system from partner countries
    • Encouraging the teachers to make exchanges of experience and good practice, improve the presentation abilities regarding the result of the research in a foreign language
    • Realizing some Optional subjects of study
    • Creating a united international team, which will take care of specific subjects from the field of Geography and meteorology
    • Studying the possibility that some regions in the partner countries had had a similar pattern of division regarding problems from the department of Geography. Choosing some framework problem developed in each country; for example: the climate and weather, the environment, economics and its development and reorganization, threats and protection of environment, regions (specific to the partner schools), and also their developing perspectives.
    • The participants of the project will acquire this type of knowledge, on a large scale of the countries’ diversity and regions from Europe, having the possibility of making comparisons. This thing will foster a preparation for further visits.
